Finally, 6 months after my last two posts about my other Voluptee lipsticks, my last one has arrived. Purchased at the same time as the others, this is probably my favourite one of them all. As you can see, it’s a soft orange colour, with the same formula as the others. Very smooth, moisturizing and comfortable to wear, and during my hating-wearing-heavy-makeup phase I’m in, this is everything I want.
I’m sure we’re all aware of my redness which ruins my life. Therefore, using orange and peachy tones on my skin and in my make up really helped to lighten up my complexion and freshens my face a bit, while avoiding a red overload. This fresh colour makes it perfect for spring and summer, although I did get this back in December and have been wearing it regularly since.
Another hit by YSL – but that’s all my Voluptees, blogged about. Perhaps time to get another few in duty free to write about?

everyday products

My daily products... most of which, admittedly will be in my January Favourites post!

On my face, it's been rather natural - instead of heavy moisturizer in the morning, the Garnier BB Cream in Light has been everything I needed. It's lightweight, and adds a tiny pop of coverage, enough to make a good base for my foundation. The Vichy Dermablend in Opal is still my foundation of choice lately. It's high coverage, but still looks natural. I use the tiniest amount and it hides my dreaded redness (bane. of. my. life) and any blemishes I have. It's a great colour match for NC15 skin. As for blush, I can now afford to wear pink cheeks now my redness is hidden. The MAC Blush ombre in Azalea Blossom has just launched with the Daphne Guinness collection, but I believe it's a repromote. It's not terribly pigmented, which I'm  thankful for. It's a cool pink blending to a lavender, which looks beautiful on these cold winter days.

As for eyes, it's rather monotonous. As always, my Urban Decay Naked Palette is my daily eyeshadows of choice. A perfect collection of my typical colours (could kill for a lovely taupey purple though.. Naked2 is calling I think), especially Smog, which looks amazing smudged along the lash line as well as on the lid. For my eyebrows, I've kept it simple with the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown which just keeps my brows in place and adds a touch of definition without looking too stupid. Finally is a mascara I'm not going to talk too much about, as I'm going to write a review about it soon, but it's the YSL Volume Effect Faux Cills in Black.

Cherry Carmex for those dry days as always! Quite a YSL feast here, first is the YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in No4, a gorgeous watermelon red/pink which looks amazing during the day and at night. To top it off during the day, I wear either of these two glosses, which are the YSL Gloss Pur's in no4 & no5. Love these - smell like watermelon, don't stick and lovely colour payoff.

January favourites post and maybe video is on it's way!

Like I said in my last post about Volupte Sheer Candys, I love the formula. Like a soft balm, but with nice pigmentation and gives a gorgeous look to the lips. This is the second lipstick out of three I’ll be posting about, and potentially my favourite. It’s a hot watermelon pink, but it’s surprisingly wearable for everyday. You can build it up but just a hint of colour looks great in my opinion. It smells like watermelon, and I can’t get enough of it! Like I said in my last post, if you do get a chance to get a hold of these, I would definitely recommend them.

christmas 2011

Better late than never I suppose. The following things are a mix of things that were given to me, and things I purchased with my Christmas money..

015
Books:
016
A post is coming up on the Gaga x Terry Richardson book, because I can’t write how much I love it in the same post as anything else...
Two cook books. I’m really into cooking now, I have a thing for just losing myself with the outside world with a good trolley full from Tesco. I’ll review them soon and show you some things I’ve cooked from them when the time comes!

Make up & beauty;

I didn’t mean to take two pictures of my YSL lipsticks and lip glosses, I think I kinda got into the moment hehe. My boyfriend got me the beautiful Naked palette, and I loveee it. I won’t do a seperate post on them but I can assure you, it will be featuring in my favourites I imagine.

This year was the YSL year, as you can see!
020
I got 3 Volupte Sheer Candys (I’ve posted about one already, let me link you; volupte sheer candy post) which I adore. I’ve still to post about the other two but I imagine I’ll post about them in a FOTD. I got two Gloss Pur lipglosses, which are amazing! Pigmented but not too strong. I also got a blush in 3 Caramel, which is a beautiful pinky brown colour, which will look stunning come summer. Also I got a set with the YSL Top Secret eye makeup remover, with the Luxurious volume effect false lashes mascara.

For the first time in months, I also went to MAC..
021
From the Daphne Guinness collection (which I was very excited for, along with the Iris Apfel collection) I got a blush ombre in Azalea Blossom, and a nail polish in Blueblood, which I’ve already posted on (blueblood post). To go with my beautiful new blush, a new blush brush was needed, which is where the 129 came from (129 post)

026
My perfume I recieved this year was Armani Diamonds. It’s 30ml and I adore it.

028
Only the best sale come Boxing Day, I picked up a Christmas Candy box, which featured the products above. I also got a Magic Wand but I’ve used it already, sorry!

I’m so lucky to get/be able to buy these things and I am so grateful. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

YSL are famed for having beautiful lipsticks. Their Rouge Volupte lipsticks are loved by bloggers to editors, and there was a rather excited buzz around when they launched the Volupte Sheer Candy’s. Supposed to be an almost balm like texture with light pigmentation and fun colours, these seemed right up my street.
The packaging is beautiful – heavy, sturdy and something you’d be proud to pull out on the train. The Rouge Volupte lipsticks are gold, rather than silver, which is the only difference on the outside. The band round the middle is the colour of the product inside which I adore – it makes storage a million times easier while still being chic.

The colour of no 6, is a stunner. In the tube it looks like a watermelon, bright cherry red pink, with no obvious shimmers. It reminds me of being somewhere warm, and summer, but once the colour is on my mid-toned lips, it translates as something you could wear in both summer and winter. Pared with paler skin and darker eyes, it looks beautiful – almost a berry, darker shade, the perfect daytime winter lip colour. Add heaps of mascara and a bit of bronzer and it comes off slightly brighter, something you wouldn’t look out of place at a festival with. It’s an absolutely beautiful lipstick and I have well and truly fell in love with the lipstick itself, and the whole line.
It’s certainly a splurge-y item, at £23.50 a pop, but if you had the cash to spend, I would definitely recommend them. Something to spend your Christmas money on, perhaps?!
